The perfect G.N.O (Girls Night Out).
Every once in a while my girlfriends and I will get together and have a G.N.O, “girls night out”. we usually have these at my good friend Deb’s house however she was out of town and so it fell on me to host the weekly gathering.
I racked my brain trying to think of a theme for my party when suddenly it came to me. I had recently just built a new office in my home and desperately needed some art work for my walls. Perfect, “a painting party” I called a few of my friends right away and they agreed it would be fun.
The idea was to let everyone have there own canvas and give them a selected color pallet, this would help all the art work flow together. I chose four colors, Green, Yellow, red and blue.
Supplies
- Canvas (one each per guest)
- Paint brushes. ( value pack) I bought 3 packs. there is about 20 brushes in a pack.
- Paint (acrylic craft paint) any colors you want.
- Water ( to clean brushes)
- Paper Plates ( for the paint)
- Paper Towels.
Thursday came, the night of the G.N.O, and all my guests arrived, bringing with them lots of goodies to snack on while we created our master pieces. There was thirteen lady’s and one hubby that came, all ready to get busy.
Everyone chose there canvas and brushes and after much discussion on project matter they all got busy. It was really quite funny to watch, the expressions on everyone’s faces where so intense, But after a few well mixed alcoholic beverages and several delightful snacks later everyone was laughing and joking and having a great time.
There is a kid in everyone and this project certainly brought out the child.
At last we where done, we all stepped back to look at our works of art, at least to each individual they where. We laughed, critiqued and made fun of, but all in all it was a great success. I had my art work, signed proudly by each artist.
It may look like a kindergarten went berserk on my wall, but each painting is very special to me. Its a memory I will cherish for many years, and one I display with fondness.
