#1 Flea Market Pick

Nashville Flea Market

I Love, Love, Love… Flea Markets, you just never know what you will find. From Rustic, Vintage, French country, Shabby Chic etc…I can’t get enough of them.

I plan on visiting several Flea Markets this year along with multiple yard sale trips and of course, antique shopping along the way. It seems like every year my favorites list gets longer and longer, but one of my best choices for a Flea Market is at The Nashville Flea Market.

The Flea Market is open on the last weekend of the month, 12 months a year and with 800 to 1200 vendors. I’m pretty sure you will find what you are looking for.

You will need a good pair of walking shoes and  something to carry all those goodies in, and you will find lots of goodies. I see people dragging small carts and shopping bags on wheels…

Note to self…Got to get a shopping cart on wheels, and don’t forget a bottle of water for those hot months.

It’s almost impossible to see everything in one day, fortunately the flea market is for 3 days: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This makes for a great weekend away and since the flea market is in the heart of Nashville there are lots of hotels and restaurants close by.

#1 Yard Sale Pick

I cannot resist a good Yard sale, and since April is just around the corner and Yard Sale season is almost here, I am getting a plan together for The Big One.

Every year my friend Jan and I visit one of the biggest yard sales I have ever been to, The 400 Mile Yard Sale. The Yard Sale stretches all the way from Paris, TN to Old Washington in Eastern KY, following highway 68. The dates for 2018 are May 31st – June 3rd.

…and this year we plan on driving the whole 400 miles. I am so excited. This, for sure, will be the ultimate Girls Trip. Last year we had a ball and only drove 100 miles. I suggest clicking on the link so you can plan your strategy.

There are so many community yard sales and hosted sites that house multiple vendors not to mention the individual yard sales. I write out a list of things that I hope to find and stick to a budget. I also carry lots of small bills, $1’s – $5’s and $10’s, snacks and a cold drink…

#1 Pick for Antiques.

Once in a while, my hubby and I will take of for the day. We never really have a specific destination, but I always have a purpose…To stop at as many Antique Stores as possible along the way. One such trip last year, lead us to a small town in KY called Hazel. I’m almost ashamed to admit that in my 15 years of living in KY I had never visited Hazel, KY. we only live about 40 miles away. But now I have found this little gem of a town, I will go back.

As you drive into the town you will see on your left a large store front, home to The Hazel Antique Store. You could seriously get lost in here… There are so many booths all displaying carefully arranged antiques and collectables. There really is something for everyone. Click here to see what I found.

After spending hours looking at all the cool stuff in the antique mall, just across the street are lots of smaller stores. You will find primitives, depression glass, rustic furniture, vintage finds and much, much more.  Click here to see what I found. The town is small but it will take you a day to filter through all the shops and look at everything Hazel has to offer. Of course there is a place to get a hamburger and a really good one at that.
